Artwork Guide
Use this guide to prepare artwork for printed signs and boards. Following these principles helps us achieve the cleanest, most reliable result.
Preparing files
Practical artwork guidance
Print-ready PDF is preferred for supplied artwork, but we can often work with a variety of common formats for simpler projects.
-
Preferred file formats
Print-ready PDF is the preferred format. Raster images should normally be supplied at approximately 300dpi at the finished print size where practical. Large-format products may be suitable at a lower effective resolution depending on viewing distance.
-
Fonts and Colours
Convert fonts to outlines or embed them within the PDF. Use CMYK colour mode where possible. Screen colours may not exactly match printed colours. For brand-critical colours, provide a recognised colour reference and contact us before ordering.
-
Bleed and Safe Area
Where artwork prints to the edge, include 3mm bleed unless another amount is specified. Keep important text, logos and symbols away from cut edges and potential drilled-hole positions.
-
Images and Logos
Logos should be vector files where possible. Suitable formats include PDF, EPS, TIFF and JPG. Please ensure logo resolution is high enough, approximately 300dpi.
